Saving Lyneham from being an economic wasteland

GWE Business West are supporting the campaign to prevent Lyneham from becoming and economic wasteland. If the base is left vacant the economic impact to the North Wiltshire businesses and community at large will have a devasting effect. The aim is to encourage the strategic defence review (which meets in October) to seriously consider filling the economic void by relocating other smaller military supply bases and a return base for troops returning from Germany to Lyneham.

The Business Show Bristol 2010 explores the impact of a new government and what it means for business

Delegates can look forward to an extensive seminar programme at The Business Show Bristol 2010, on 15th September at Leigh Court. The programme will include a review on 'A new Government and a new Economy: what does this mean for UK business?' with Steve Hughes who leads the British Chambers of Commerce’s policy work on economic affairs, tax and regulation. This will explore how business was affected during the recession, how the downturn has fundamentally altered the trading environment, the Coalition Government’s attempts to drive recovery through policy and the economic landscape for the next few years. The Business Show Bristol 2010 with Ruby Wax

Our popular B2B exhibition returns to Bristol on 15th September at Leigh Court Business Centre. This year exhibitors and visitors can look forward to an extensive seminar programme, with keynote speaker Ruby Wax confirmed to speak at 1pm on 'Leadership through Communication'. Also, a showcase of up to 100 exhibitors from a wide range of different business sectors, speed networking sessions and a conference café for networking, refreshment and one to one meetings. The Future of Local Economic Partnerships

On 29th June 2010 GWE Business West brought together representatives of the business community, in Bristol, Swindon, Bath and Gloucestershire, to discuss the new Coalition Government’s approach to economic development. Coalition Emergency Budget 22nd June 2010

In the Coalition Agreement the government promised an emergency budget in 50 days, this was presented to the House at 12.30pm on Tuesday 22nd June.
